The Wombats Do Tokyo In Sydney.
Our latest Under The Bridge Session sees The Wombats deliver a fun acoustic version of Tokyo (Vampires & Wolves) underneath a blue autumn Sydney sky.
The boys were in great spirits and if you look in the background you’ll see they weren’t the only UK visitors in town as the QE2 was dropping by as well.
Good one innit?

G Market Haul 3
This Wednesday morning I heard a knock on the door, saw the post man in the window and excitedly I opened the door. I had been waiting for my benefit cosmetics order from America since Christmas. While I signed for the package, I noticed the korean writing on the invoice. To my amazement, my Gmarket order I bought on Friday was already here! Just incredible considering Gmarket is a service that relies on other merchants to send to them and then dispatch. 4 business days from Korea compared to my benefit order which is still not here (nearly a month!). Faster than my orders in my own country (Australia) too.
Items
- Agenda diary : 10000won (~$10AUD) I got a discount for the diary using a coupon that I won from a draw. My most anticipated item from this order was this 2012 planner. I’m never consistent enough to write in a planner. I always start eagerly in the yr and then by June I forget about it. This year I’m telling myself to persist! The stationery from Korea is terribly adorable. I’m always picky about planners because you are stuck with one all year round. A cute one is a must! This year I went for this rose synthethic leather one. Most of the diaries from Gmarket sellers are undated so you do have to write out the dates. They usually come with stickers so you can personalize it. This one didn’t but I already have stickers from my last planner. Also an important note - a lot of the journals are in english! so you don’t have to worry about not understanding them. eg months, days, info page.
- TonyMoly Lip scrub & nail polishes : 2 nail polishes for 6000won and the lip scrub was 6000won. I’ve been wearing lipstick more often so this helps to make my lips look fresh. The bright pink lip packaging is really distinctive. It exfoliates dry, chapped skin off the lips and has an apricot scent. A fancier version of exfoliating lips with a toothbrush. The nail polishes reminded me of opi muppet collection with all the large glitter spots. Been wanting to get it so I got this alternative instead at 1/5 of the price.
- Etude tear drop liner: My first etude product! A silver/white glittery liner for the bottom inner eye corner. Has a very thin applicator brush. Feels ticklish when putting it on and it isn’t exactly precise. Very subtle glitter. I wanted the second version because it was more gold toned but it was sold out. This one wasn’t too bad though. Can’t wait to try more etude items, they are so cutesy styled which I like.
- Samples: Got a moisturizing sample from etude and face mask from tonymoly. Great timing because I’m running out of face masks!
Overall, I’m pretty excited to start using that planner and loved the glittery items I got.
Specials/Events
For chinese new year, Gmarket has up to 50% shipping rates to Asian countries such as HK, vietnam, singapore and more. Lucky them! I’ll be saving my red packets this chinese new year for some peri pera lipsticks and some cute boots for my next gmarket order.
xoxo have a happy chinese new year everyone and pig out on my behalf. :)
Gmarket Haul Review
Happy Holidays fellow tumblers.
Hope everyone had a lovely and safe Christmas this year. Xmas is the season for giving, did a lot of that during this break and thought I need to treat myself too! So I decided to purchase a few things off Gmarket. Gmarket is like the korean version of ebay. Many merchants on one site. This is my second batch purchase from Gmarket.
They have an english site. Most of it is in English, the sellers pages have more korean but its relatively simply to order. You can check out this video tutorial how to order off Gmarket.
Shipping
The beauty of Gmarket is that you can buy a massive haul from many different sellers and Gmarket will package all these items into one order and send it to you. Saves a lot of time if you want to buy heaps of items. Not all sellers send items overseas so remember to check “worldwide shipping” when you are searching. I currently reside in Australia and the shipping time was indeed impressive. It only took a week to arrive from South Korea. I suggest buying multiple items if you plan to purchase anything from Gmarket. Shipping is by EMS and buying only one item, the shipping is quite costly. Maybe do a group order with friends to lessen shipping costs.
Item Review
- Stella Bag by Jenni & Kelli. (~$34AUD) Amazing quality for the price you pay. I would not be able to get the same quality bag here in Australia for that price. Detailing is on par as well.
- PeriPera Lipsticks. (~$13AUD each) Rave reviews on these lipsticks from Hollyannaeree and beautifymeeh on youtube. Bought a coral one and a light beige lipstick. Beautiful floral lipstick case and the formula is creamy and feel light on the lips.
- Banila Co Cosmetics. (price range $13 AUD - $18AUD). I’ve heard comparisons that Banila Co is the Benefit of Korea. Banila Co doesn’t have any counters internationally and is quite hard to get your hands on their products outside of Korea. I bought their infamous classic primer and 2 lipsticks. A nude and pink version in their love affair collection. I actually prefer the colours and texture of these on my lips compared to the peripera ones. Haven’t tried the primer yet! Love Banila Co cause they give massive amounts of samples. See those three striped coloured boxes? Those are free make up remover pads packed in those boxes.
- TonyMoly nailpolishes. (~$2AUD each) Had to get these cause they are so adorable! I was really attracted to their simple packaging, colours and price! I’ve swatched a bit of each and colour payoff is very good. You only need about one coat or two at max. Only annoying thing is that they chip really easily in about a day or two. Really strange, but I can just reapply onto the chipped parts and it looks good as new. I’ve tried this before with other nailpolishes but it doesn’t look even and only patchy. Got a free tonymoly face mask with these polishes.
Discounts and Samples
Gmarket adds a bit of novelty to their site by giving discounts to members with a page where you can draw for coupons. There is a limit to these draws everyday. I won a discount for 1000won ($1AUD) off. Not bad but hey ebay wouldn’t give me the option ! Generally with cosmetic purchases there will be free samples included and suppliers can be quite generous.
Overall, I was really happy with my purchases and the fast shipping. Already have my sight on some cute boots and etude glosses for my next Gmarket purchase…
xoxo
